major step back

Does anyone else know that one person in the group that is just extra/dramatic/likes too many sparkles? If the answer is a no, then it's probably you. If it's not you, then ignore all of that and just know that that person is me lolol.

I admit it. I'm bad and boujee. Jk fam. I'm just a little boujee.

Anyways this morning I was getting ready and feeling so much anxiety about little things.
And then I stopped what I was doing and asked myself the following questions:
1. Are these problems really big issues? (the answer was NO)
2. Okay so then are these petty issues hurting me or anyone else? (the answer was NO)
3. Umm....am I just being dramatic/taking it way out of context????? (the answer was YES)

And wow...my morning went so much better and I was able to see things a little more clearly.
My heart resumed it's normal heart beat.

Sometimes I (let's be real: we) make a Colorado mountain out of a Florida "hill." (lol I think I'm so funnnyyy)

It's important to take a step back and reevaluate what's really going on.

So let's take a major step back and remember: it will be okay!

one month

I didn't know so much could happen in the span of 31 days, but apparently it can.

I finished my first year of being at Southeastern University in Floridaaaaa!!!!!! It blows. my. mind.

Back in September I wrote a post called, "On my way to the next three years."
You can read it here: http://www.beboldbesoulful.com/2016/09/on-my-way-to-next-3-years.html

Well. It's been a year and I guess in September I can write one about the next 2 years?!A lot has changed and I'm sitting here, still in Lakeland, not in the place I thought I would be. Tbh I didn't really know what to expect or where I would be this Summer. Back during Winter break I knew in my gut that I wouldn't be staying in Virginia, but I never expected that I would be in Florida.

I am so happy that I am here! I love living in a house, cooking for myself, the job I work, the friendships I am forming, and the time I have.

All I know is that every day a new part of my story forms and it is so incredibly exciting to be experiencing all of this. It's really taxing emotionally (I feel everyyyything) and physically (sometimes I get no sleep).

The one thing I've really taken away from this month is that
everything will be fine. The Lord leads us to where He needs us (if we take the steps:)

There is so much I want to share. So much I want to do. And I know that this little post only scratches the surface of everything that happened in May. Thanks for sticking around!

Love,
lily

Daily makeup routine w/ my roomie!!

Soooooo sometimes I wake up a little late for class/the day.
I don't like to waste my time doing makeup (unless it's for an event/gig!!).
I can do this look in about 10 minutes and every time I do it I get a few compliments
so I figured I'd finally post a "daily makeup routine" video.

My sweet roommate, Paola, was sweet enough to join me
and show you what my routine looks like on her complexion!

I'm pretty sure it's simple enough for anyone to use,
but if it doesn't work for you, then I hope at least all of
our goofy faces made you smile :)

FOLLOW PAOLA:

*disclaimer: I don't use this every day. Some days I just go to class with no makeup. And that's cool too!! Also, if your parents have rules about makeup, just follow them. You'll have time in the future to do your makeup however you want. Don't grow up too fast. Also, parents usually know best :)

stay golden,
Lily

Times of refreshing

If we're being honest, I told myself that this wouldn't be a spiritual blog. But if we're still being honest, everything in my life is spiritual. The purpose for everything I do is really all for God. And it would be a shame if I didn't share that. So while this blog is a place where I hope you can connect with my story and be inspired to live a more bold and soulful life, I also hope it's a place that points you right back to God.

With the semester ending I feel like a lot of people are stressed out. I get it. We have school, life, and/or jobs. It can be a lot!! But I want to remind you that even when you have a lot due, activities all weekend, and 5 meetings a day, you can still be okay.

"...that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord..." Acts 3:20

So right now, take a few seconds to breathe. Drink some water. Pray. And keep going.

You've got this!

xoxo,
Lily
