This was at the end of the day......
To curl your hair without heat or curling rolls, check out my friend Aunie's post.
It's SO easy and takes about 5 minutes (if even..and depending on length:P).

Made fun of for dressing "old"?

it hurts.
when someone tells me
i dress like an old person.
i know i shouldn't let it.
but it stings.

honestly, i dress the way i do
because it's comfortable.
it's also what I can afford.
which is not to say you can get some
very cuuuute things on clearance.

(just for fun)

(day after I had 3 gigs)

(instead of wearing pjs to school)

(the day after my CD release)

we all have different taste
and we all have different style.
right?
so why do I feel like crying?

all my life
I've been told by
the people close and more distant to me,
that I dress like an old person.

it makes me feel
self conscious
un-beautiful
like a mess.

some days it effects me
more than others.

and I know that
other people's opinions
aren't supposed to matter,
but let's be real.

you want people to
compliment you.
it feels great.
and if you don't
like something,
it's better not to say
anything at all.
or to give an obvious body check,
sigh,
and then keep speaking.

do you know how
insignificant you can make
people feel?
by you actions, what you say, your body language.

so be careful.
and if you have moments
like these, remember this

beauty

and read up Aunie's post.
she posted it today.
and i don't think
that it was a coincidence.

People like Lily {Guest post from Miss (soon to be Mrs.) Aunie- Queen of sauce}

Dear lovely followers, I am honored to have a post from the dear Miss (soon to be Mrs;) Annelise Driftlot.
AKA The Queen of sauce - She has taken the time to write a post for you all and honestly I'm very humbled and touched right now. I didn't tell Aunie what to specifically write on, so reading this post just makes me want to cry a little bit. I would appreciate if you would take the time to please leave her a little comment love on her own blog. Without further ado, Aunie, I turn this blog over to you.

*************************************
Hello Lily lovers!
My name is Annelise and I blog over at the little blog called Aunie Sauce.
I'm the girl who is "not."
NOT a mom. NOT a graphic designer. NOT a gourmet cook.
So, what am I?
A 20-something swanky Idahoan who blogs about
Let's just say, Aunie Sauce is NOT your average blog.

As I mentioned above, I often blog about what's on my heart.
Lately, what's been on my heart is the amazing support from the blogging community.
You see it everyday with Miss Lily.
She has been a huge supporter of mine for the last few months.
To be honest, it's a wonderful friendship that she and I have.

My birthday was this last Monday, and in my inbox, I found a virtual birthday card from Lily.
She sang me Happy Birthday.
No one has ever done anything like that for me before.
I think that shows you how much love she has for others.

Through it all, the support and love of other bloggers is so astounding.
I'm thankful for it everyday.

The simple emails that come to my inbox just wanting to say hi,
asking for a piece of advice,
or just sharing a beautiful thought...
I am always so appreciative of each of them.

What keeps me blogging?
You.
People like Lily.
The ones who open their heart and share love every day.

If you're one of them, thank you.
I could never thank you enough.

p.s. Fitness Friday Readers: Post will be coming up on Saturday because on Friday I have a FULL schedule and I don't want Fitness Friday to be a scheduled post. Thanks for understanding:)

It's a big deal to me

We go through life taking these tiny steps and then stepping out and taking even bigger steps.

Sometimes we go through things that we don't need to go through.

Because of a choice.

Then you have to make another choice to make it better and not be bitter.

And today I was reminded of that by my sweet friend Aunie.

And sometimes we have to go through life. just living. and that's extremely awful.

But then, you make a choice:)

And it completely and radically changes you! And it allows you to do things....

like this:

And this ^ is a really big deal to me.

I made it one of my "Must be able to do by end of summer" goals:) And I accomplished it.
And I feel so good. Eventually I'll be able to do even cooler moves that are better than this! But, hey, it's a start and I ain't complain' ;)

Happy Thursday!

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez....
......

Big deal! Let's talk about nails instead.

Wow. I realize I talk about Aunie a lot....
But she is just so so cool!

Ever since I saw Aunie do some water marbling over at

I tried to it 3 times....It works but it takes forever.
Anywho, my friend Lina came over the other day so I thought
I'd give it a go and do her nails....

We got like 3 really really cool nails....and that was it so we just stopped.

Actually there was one finger in particular that looked really really cool until we had to clean it up.

COOL RIGHT?!?!?

too bad it got ruined

A week without heat

*This post takes place of my usual WWIW posts*

Dear Aunie,

You are starting to seriously rub off on me! I went a week without heat or hairspray on my hair! Well....6 days actually.

You see, last Sunday I said to myself that I needed to go without frying my hair. Usually I use heat at least 3 times a week.

So in honor of you, I tried out your hair styles!

Last Sunday and 3 days ago Sunday - this is how I wore my hair:)

inspired by

It's super quick, simple, and I got lots of compliments. Thanks for this guest post, Aunie.

On Monday we had snow so I didn't have to go to school or anything!!!

On Tuesday I almost gave up... Ok well I plugged in my curling iron and
tried curling a piece of hair.
Then I said: NO

And here is how I did my hair

On Wednesday I had my hair in a ponytail. I think. I can't really remember right now.
Oh yeah!! It was in a ponytail:)

On Wednesday night
I curled my hair so that on Thursday I could wake up and be ready to go.

Don't worry! I used no heat or hairspray!

It came out like:

Throughout the day it got a little bit looser, but that made it look better!!

On Thursday night I did the same curling technique
and in the morning I put the curly hair into a messy ponytail letting my hair fall out wherever....
WOAH! All I had to do was spray it with water and scrunch and it looked so cute!
If you want it to stay like that all day just hairspray.

Saturday I succumbed to a blow dryer because my church had it's 11th anniversary event...
and I was performing.

Thanks for showing me it's possible, Aunie.

Love,
Lily

That awkward picture

Confessions of a GDS

Oh what a great blog hop idea!

Now I get to show my awkward pictures and it won't be awkward...
o.O

You see, just saying "That's so awkward" about a picture
is not enough. There are so many stages of awkward pictures. Let me show you.

The "I'm eating" awkward pose.

The "I'm doing the peace and I think I look cool"

The "I'm so fly"

The "funny face"

The "I look so cute don't I? I'm pretending to show you my
object, but I really want you to see me"

The "blowfish"

hahahahhaha.....

The "I'm so bored at my own party"
(not really....the photographers just happened to catch my face like that at that moment...)

And those are some of the many many awkward stages of awkward photos.....
