Tuesday Tutorial - Nail Time!

Manicures can be so expensive! And a lot of the time, not even worth it.
Here's an easy, modern, and inexpensive manicure that you can do right on your kitchen table!

Step 1. Grab two colors that contrast e/o. I chose a pearly color and black.
{Feel free to use any color combination}
Also get a dotter tool or brush with
small tip {I used an old liquid
eyeliner brush}

Step 2. Start with clean nails.
If you like to do a clear base coat
 then go ahead.

Step 3. Paint your main color

Step 4. After your main color has dried,
get your dotter tool and dip it
(or take it off your nail brush)
in the contrasting color (for me it was black)

Step 5. Paint dots on the bottom of your nails and let dry!

New year

I'm not into rushing, but I am into preparing.
and doing fun little things:)

I've had a great 2012 and gosh we still have two whole months.
And starting today, I'm doing things differently.
There are a lot of things that I regret about this year.
No nothing bad.
I just wish I didn't procrastinate
and was more prepared.

I was on pinterest and I saw this:

Start the year with an empty jar and fill it with notes about good things that happen. Then, on New Year's Eve, empty it and see what awesome stuff happened that year.
"Start the year with an empty jar and fill it with notes about good things that happen. Then, on New Year's Eve, empty it and see what awesome stuff happened that year."

It really has nothing to do with what I just talked about,
but isn't it a great idea?
I feel like it's and incentive to do good things.
I mean who doesn't love reading little notes from your past self?

One jar for each month:)

Tuesday Tip!! // How to save your cheap "silver"

I know how you feel. You buy that SUPER CUTE ring. But you bought it for a dollar at some store right?

ring ring ring ring

It looks totally Chic and Expensive... Unfortunately you know it's going to turn green or copper. It's sooo annoying! I have the solution:)

It's as easy as 1&2&3
1. paint ring with CLEAR nail polish

2. Let Dry

3. WEAR!!

You might want to do this like every once in a while... But all of my rings stay beautiful and clear. Plus they are really shiny and no one can tell the difference of my .50cent Thrift Store ring with the $10 Target one;)

No Heat Hairstyle

This lovely hair has gone over a week without heat!!! Ohhhh yeaaah...That's how I roll.

It's fairly easy.... Just twist your semi-damp hair along the sides one side at a time.
Once one side is clipped to the back start on the next side. Once you reach the back roll your hair and clip hair together.... If need be use bobby pins to hold the sides of your hair.

Mustache // Tuesday Tutorial

make a stamp out of erasers

Into the Mustache thaaang?

Here's how to create YOUR OWN Mustached stamp. And most likely with things you have:D

Step 1
Draw a Mustache
DIY for how to make your own stamp out of a rubber eraser!
via

Step 2

Take a carver

Chris Pye - Auriou Carving tool set.

And start carving

Final Step

Once you've finished carving you can use ink, marker, or paint.
Then stamp away!
sidewalk chalk paint

You can even stamp onto plates

Cut a cheap sponge into a mustache shape and stamp paper plates! cute and cheap! although I would stamp the bottoms of clear plates so paint won't get on the foods...

CD Wall

Does your room look like htis

via

Ok. Maybe your room doesn't look exactly like that.
But you get the point right?

Most likely you have CDs that you do not even listen to anymore.

Then get some tape, loop it or use double sided sticky tape.

via

(you don't have to do this many)

Be sure that you do it the way you like.

I did mine like this:

Since I had a sliver of wall that I thought needed decoration:)

So there you go! Happy Tuesday:)

(Thanks to Abi for leaving a comment. You can do this with records too!)

Advice

Some advice (tips) since today is Tuesday.

Be yourself. It might be hard. You might want to cave. Don't give in. Be you.
In the midst of chaos, be that little light of love. In the midst of despair, be that hope.
In the midst of laziness, be that difference.
"You difference will create your reward." - Dr.Mike Murdock

Tuesday Tip

be you
It's Thinky Tuesday.... Ok not really...

It's actually.......drum roll: Tuesday's Tips/Tutorials!!

5 Tips to surviving being a transfer home school student who got into public school like 3 1/2 months before school lets out for the summer.

1. Don't be afraid to use your school map!

2. Don't be afraid to ask for directions if you've walked up and
down the same hallway 3 times and still can't find your class.

3. DON'T let kids copy your homework even if they beg and tell you it's the only time they are going to copy it - because that is not true...

4. Do your homework the same night you get it that way it's done by the next time you need it....Also do your homework Friday night or Saturday morning if you can. It saves so much time.

5. Take your shower the night before, pick out your outfit the night before, pack your snacks the night before. That way int he morning all you have to do is make your sand-which or whatevs you eat and only take like 30 minutes to apply make-up, do your hair, brush teeth/wash face.

Oh. Am I the only one that takes that long?

Oily hair and no time to wash?!? Easy solution with something you probably have at home

Happy Valentine's Day everyone:)
I think everybody should be love everyday!
And not this fake "Omg I love you".
No, I'm talking about the real McCoy.
Love.
___________
Anywho, the real reason you are here is to read my:
Oily hair and no time to wash?!? Easy solution with something you probably have at home.

{picture found on google search by searching: oily hair)

This is your "haven't wash is one or two days" hair.

Oh no!!! And you need to leave in 25 minutes with no time to wash, blow dry, and leave.
That's OK.
I have a trick that'll work.

Step 1: Take baking soda and put it into a small dish.
via

Step 2: Go ahead and do this in layers for best results.
Sprinkle into roots, layer by layers if you choose, and make sure you take your fingers
and just kinda rub it around (not scrub!)
Then take a paddle brush and brush it out until it's all gone.

That was it. 2 steps!!!
You're ready:)

See you tomorrow:)

Nail Tutorial

Today I'll be showing you a couple of really cool nail designs and some of my favorite nail polishes.
Please feel free to pin, re-post, and leave a comment:)

Step 1: Get your supplies ready. Grab anything and everything you can find.
I even got egg shells....
My supply list:
Glue Gun, glue sticks for the glue gun
2 plastic bowls
Nail polish
Tape{Did not use, but it's great for straight lines/french tip}
string/yarn
paper
sharpies
egg shells
paint
glitter
circle gems
scissors
straw
qutips {?}
tooth pick
and ANYTHING else you want
*note: Be sure to place everything on a surface that can get stained.

Get nail polishes ready.
I picked a pink/gold/pearl color scheme.
I used every nail polish you see below.

Step 3: Paint your base coat and base color
I used pearl on all fingers except for the accent nail on which I used a light pink

Step 4: Prepare your dots for use while your nails dry.
How to: place your glue gun down sideways and squeeze it out... allow to fall into a circle before continuing to next circle.
Once dry peel off and place in bowl (make sure to take off the paper from bottom of dot)
You can choose to paint them now or once they are on your nail.

*note: put extended wear top coat on EACH nail!!

This is the middle finger on my left hand.
The base is pearly white, the heart is made out of construction paper
(I didn't allow the base to finish drying before placing the heart on top)
I let my nails finish drying, painted the pink in the space above the
heart and then I let it all dry. of course - clear top coat!

Base is the pearly white. I took my neon pink art brush and painted a sort of cross.
(before painting the designs I painted one of my dots)
Since my cross was still wet I placed the dot right on top:)
If it's wet you can always paint some clear nail polish in the spot you want to put the dot.

I put some of the blue in one of my bowls and took the end of a straw
and dipped it in the paint and then I put it on top of the dry base.
The key to making circles is to swivel in place.
I took some clear polish and put it underneath of the gold circle.
then I placed it on my nail.

This one was fun.
I placed pink and orange in my palette bowl and then took string
and went across my finger nail with it.
I sort of has a splattered look. Very chic and totally in this spring!

Color I used for string nail ;)

The trick to all these nails is...wait for it.....to be creative in your own way.
And remember, un-matching is the new matching.

P.S. Be sure to come back next week. Here's a hint of what you are gonna look forward to for next Tuesday: Dry Shampoo
