Pick Me Up

These days it’s easy to think you’re fat and not-so attractive. How could you not? With all of the things we see on the internet, like pinterest, it’s easy to think that you’re not all that. Just to let you know, you truly are beautiful!

Quick pick-me-ups (*hint - this one is for everybody)
-Wake up in the morning and thank God for making you
-Hang up a little sign on your mirror with your favorite verse
-Tell yourself that you are beautiful
-Drink a whole cup of water within the first 30 minutes of waking up.
-Have a fruit salad for breakfast
-Go on a walk
-Create a fun playlist and play it on the computer/ipod/etc and blare it!

Stop explaining yourself

I don't know about you,
but i constantly find myself explaining
my words. or actions.
why?
when I really asked myself that I find that
it's because i don't want people to
think that i'm weird.

see, i'm not popular.
i'm always getting the body-check.
and the only people i'm really "cool"
to are the freshmen.
and my friends i guess.

it's really all about insecurity and figuring out who you are.
and that's what i'm still trying to figure out.
who i am.
and sometimes i have to remember to stop explaining.
my friends don't need it.
my enemies won't believe it.

You are beautiful

Today I was reminded just how truly beautiful I am.
I want to remind you just how beautiful you are.

Made fun of for dressing "old"?

it hurts.
when someone tells me
i dress like an old person.
i know i shouldn't let it.
but it stings.

honestly, i dress the way i do
because it's comfortable.
it's also what I can afford.
which is not to say you can get some
very cuuuute things on clearance.

(just for fun)

(day after I had 3 gigs)

(instead of wearing pjs to school)

(the day after my CD release)

we all have different taste
and we all have different style.
right?
so why do I feel like crying?

all my life
I've been told by
the people close and more distant to me,
that I dress like an old person.

it makes me feel
self conscious
un-beautiful
like a mess.

some days it effects me
more than others.

and I know that
other people's opinions
aren't supposed to matter,
but let's be real.

you want people to
compliment you.
it feels great.
and if you don't
like something,
it's better not to say
anything at all.
or to give an obvious body check,
sigh,
and then keep speaking.

do you know how
insignificant you can make
people feel?
by you actions, what you say, your body language.

so be careful.
and if you have moments
like these, remember this

beauty

and read up Aunie's post.
she posted it today.
and i don't think
that it was a coincidence.
