i don't know what to write about

I want to be positive. I want to be encouraging. But I don't know what to write about...

What I'm currently learning is that you can have joy in the Lord and still go through a period of grief.
I'm grieving for what I've lost and I'm grieving for my friends who have gone through traumatic experiences.

By the grace and mercy of God, I am still standing. My hair's in a messy bun and you best believe I'm rockin my socks and birks almost on the daily. But I'm standing.

Deuteronomy 8:2 "Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character..."

This scripture currently describes my life. And maybe it describes yours.

My friend, this life will continue come with many trials. I encourage you, and myself, to rely on the Lord's strength, stay humble, and continue serving in love.

I have few words tonight (and you may not see many blog posts for the next couple of weeks), but I do want to leave you with an incredible spoken word that my friend Genesis Feliciano wrote in September. 

I hope it moves you the way it has continuously moved me these last few months.

Elevate

They say when you reach new levels, 

You confront new devils 

Sometimes the very thought of reaching new heights scare us 

Fear blinds us 

but to elevate 

is to forget about yesterday, 

Lifting up our heads

and running forward

focusing on the destination

being anchored by His revelation 

We are more than what they say we are

Our feet planted on His promises 

and our hearts rooted in His 

Move forward 

You’re covered by His unending grace. 

Trust in His hand,

Even when You can't see His face.




See, its different levels

but its the same God 

the One who streamed water from a rock with a rod

the One who brought the dead to life

and made creations worst sinners His bride

that God. 

So elevate your sight to His glory which seeps through the clouds 

and reminds us that we can’t be lost when we’ve been found

elevation isn’t for a crowd




it’s for the flower who grew from concrete 

who struggles to stay rooted 

but grounds herself in the Truth

no longer defeated

its for the blind who believed 

the deaf who heard

and the righteous who suffered

look upward.




Rise up and take flight 

Let the Son shine bright 

And show you His light

You've been prepared through His might 

Grounded in His life 

Don't lose sight

Because where He’s taking you is new land

unforeseen, 

wonderland. 




Run the race and fulfill His call 

You've been passed the baton 

This was your destiny all along 

So be strong 

For the Lord your God is with you, 

with you through it all. 

So elevate. 

Open your eyes to heavens gates

captivate. 

cause what you’re about to witness 

you won’t wanna miss it.
